Modiphius Entertainment ENPW2002 - WOIN OLD: Fantasy Heroic V1.3
Whats O.L.D. is N.E.W. (W.O.I.N.) is the system powering three gorgeous, crunchy, compatible roleplaying games - medieval fantasy, 80s action heroes, and far-future science fiction. These games are called O.L.D., N.O.W., and N.E.W., respectively and are all open (as in open gaming content) and entirely compatible with each other. Designed from the start as a toolkit oriented game system, you are encouraged to design your own content using the extensive guidelines found in each book.
Stoic rangers track their prey across the unkempt wilderness. Shining knights with sword and lance charge heroically at their foes. Weathered watchmen investigate a murder in a scummy tavern. Masters of the dark arts bring the dead back to life. Ernest clerics turn back vampires in deep, unholy crypts. Mighty warriors battle ice dragons in the arctic wastes. Pale alchemists mix complex ingredients for their latest concoctions.
Play a brave knight, a cunning burglar, a serene warrior-monk, or a brilliant firemage. Are you a wild berserker, a deadly assassin, or a swashbuckling musketeer? Dozens of fantasy careers await you!
The O.L.D. Fantasy Heroic Roleplaying Game includes more than 300 pages of rules and content that allows you to create and run adventures in any fantasy setting!
Features:
x The W.O.I.N. rules use a life-path system for character generation, d6 dice pools for task resolution, a freeform verb-noun magic system, and hex-based starship combat rules influenced by the best that the 1980s had to offer but updated to modern sensibilities.
x Full rules for running the game and extensive guidelines for building a fantasy game setting.
x A selection of fantasy races and over 40 careers which allow you to create any fantasy character with the fun and intuitive life-path system.
x A wide array of medieval and fantasy equipment, weapons, armor, mounts, and magical items.
x A flexible and innovative magic system, herbalism and alchemy, stronghold building rules, a chapter on warfare, wilderness travel, and much more!
x Rather than including a setting itself, O.L.D. is very much pitched as a toolkit full of rules and guidelines which help you create your own setting or model your favourite TV, movie, or book setting. To that end, a full quarter of the book is devoted to worldbuilding.
